Meet Annie

Annie Tredray is a physiotherapist, avid cyclist and passionate advocate for healthy aging. She founded Big Red Ride a community initiative in Banff, Alberta, as a solution to improving the health and wellness of hospital residents and community members.

The combination of physical activity, social connectivity and experiencing the natural environment, are key ingredients that contribute to a thriving life. By making physical activity fun, easy and social, healthy choices become more accessible and desirable.

Annie has continued to improve and advance ways for clients to experience the joy of being physically active outside. Through this exploration Pedal4Joy was founded.

Since 2019, Annie has worked with lead engineer Stein DeMeyer of geminusbikes.com Together they have further developed an adaptive 4-seat eBike using Stein’s ingenious technology and Annie’s biomechanical knowledge. The comfort, safety and capability of the new eBike is more adaptable to Canadian terrain and will expand horizons previously off limits to adults compromised by age, illness or mobility.

Experience and testimonial feedback have shown repeatedly,  the utter joy, improved physical, psychological and social well-being acquired by the adults riding outdoors.

Hospital clients, members of the community, families and friends are able to safely share outdoor recreational time together.
